Hello everyone! My name is Natalia Marte and I am a Site Coordinator at PS 197 Math, Science, and Technology Prep. I am a first generation college student and understand the importance of having a college education as well as the disadvantages of not having one. The opportunities that become available to you after receiving a college degree are endless. Furthermore, education, for many of us, is our escape from poverty. Just to give you all a little background about myself: I am Dominican and moved here from Harlem, NY. I also lived in Brooklyn, NY during my childhood and Providence, RI, during my teenage years. I am currently in a joint JD/PhD in Sociology Program at the University at Buffalo. My interest revolve around social justice, mass incarceration, and participating in anything that uplifts marginalized communities. I am a member of Just Resisting, which is a collective of organizers and artists who identify as black and people of color who believe in and work towards Transformative Social Justice. Moreover, I am part of the core team of the Buffalo Black Lives Matter Chapter.
My name is Erin Belile. I am a School Counseling Master's Student at the University of Buffalo.
